‘Invaluable’ says Seetec Using Independent Trustee Search

Seetec, one the UK’s largest employee owned public service providers, recently embarked on a search for a new Trustee Director.

The logical first step was utilising the eoa’s exclusive self-service Independent Trustee Search tool – a process Seetec said “proved invaluable”.

Effective & Cost-Free

The tool enables eoa members to advertise, recruit for, and apply to be an Independent Trustee.

After a four-week window from posting the vacancy, the business received more than twenty high-quality applications.

According to Ann-Marie Conway, Seetec’s Associate Director of Employee Ownership, and a Highly Commended individual for the 2024 ‘Employee Owner of the Year’, award:

“The calibre and range of skills on offer were impressive. We could easily have appointed more than one candidate.

“I’d highly recommend the Independent Trustee Search as an effective and cost-free way to find new trustees.”

New Appointment

Although many incredible candidates were considered, the business eventually appointed Chris Simpson.

“I keep a regular check on the EO Trustee roles and indeed get alerted when they’re posted to the site,” he said.

“This way it’s easy to spot the most interesting ones for me and which might suit my skills and background.

“The Seetec role had a lot of overlap here and they ran a good two stage process after initial screening.”

Ann-Marie added: “We’re delighted to welcome Chris to our Board and are already benefiting from the expertise and insight he brings from across the EO sector.”

Among many other things, Chris is Non-Executive Director at Flint Technology Services and Managing Director of Going Long Consulting.

He also brings a wealth of experience, currently serving as Independent Trustee at Excellence IT (UK, InSynch Technology, and GearForm Trustees.

“It’s been my experience that the roles advertised on the eoa site are naturally engaged with the spirit of EO and make good prospects,” said Chris.
